Fixed-price transfer to Southampton cruise terminals. ~90 miles via M23 and M3. Cunard, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and all lines. Ship tracked. 24/7.
Southampton is the UK's premier cruise port and home to the most prestigious ships afloat. Cunard's Queen Mary 2, Queen Anne and Queen Elizabeth all depart from Southampton. Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, Holland America, Norwegian Cruise Line and P&O Cruises all operate sailings from the city's four cruise terminals. For passengers embarking on Atlantic crossings, round-world cruises and Caribbean itineraries, Southampton is the natural choice of departure port.
From Langton Green and Tunbridge Wells, Southampton is the longest transfer we regularly operate — approximately 90 miles each way — but for the cruise itineraries it serves, particularly the transatlantic and world voyages, the journey is a small part of a much larger adventure. Many of our passengers boarding at Southampton are heading out for 2–6 weeks, and they want the transfer handled with the same professionalism they expect from the cruise itself.
Southampton operates four distinct cruise terminals, each serving different cruise lines. Arriving at the wrong terminal means a significant delay and additional navigation around Southampton's port road system. We confirm your terminal when you book.
Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, Marella Cruises. Western Docks. Main entrance off Western Esplanade.
Cunard Line (QM2, Queen Anne, Queen Elizabeth). Western Docks. The most prestigious terminal.
P&O Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line. Eastern Docks. Accessed via the Eastern Docks entrance.
Holland America, Fred. Olsen, various operators. Eastern Docks. Oldest terminal, significant refurbishment.
The journey from Langton Green to Southampton takes you west across Kent and Surrey, picking up the M23 near Crawley (the same motorway used for Gatwick transfers) and then joining the M25 briefly before turning southwest on the M3 towards Winchester and Southampton. The final approach is via the M271 and A33 directly into the port.
This route has the advantage of avoiding central London entirely. The M25 section we use (between M23 and M3 junctions) is significantly less congested than the M25 east of London used for Stansted and Luton transfers. On a clear morning, 90 miles from Langton Green to Southampton takes approximately 95 minutes.
Cruise passengers typically travel with significantly more luggage than airport travellers. A couple embarking on a 2-week Caribbean cruise might have 4–6 large suitcases, multiple carry-on bags, suit carriers and specialist items. The vehicle needs to accommodate all of this without the passenger having to compromise on comfort.
For Southampton transfers with large luggage volumes, we recommend booking an MPV or estate vehicle. An estate handles 4–5 large suitcases; an MPV comfortably accommodates 6–8 large cases depending on size. When you book, tell us your passenger count and luggage load and we will confirm the appropriate vehicle and price.
Southampton cruise tip: Cunard sailings from Southampton — particularly the QM2 transatlantic crossings — often have a 5pm departure with check-in closing at 3pm. This means there is no rush to arrive at the terminal first thing. Many of our Langton Green passengers travelling on Cunard prefer a 9am or 10am pickup, which allows a comfortable 90-minute drive and time to enjoy the terminal experience before boarding. Let us know your cruise line and we will advise on the ideal departure time.
Approximately £165–£185 for a standard saloon at our fixed from-£165 rate. For passengers with significant cruise luggage, we may recommend an estate or MPV at a confirmed rate. Your exact price is given at booking — no extras on the day.
90–120 minutes depending on traffic via the A264, M23 and M3. The route avoids London entirely. Off-peak morning drives (before 7am) typically take 90–95 minutes. We confirm your recommended pickup time when you book based on your sailing details.
Cunard uses the QEII Terminal, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity use the City Cruise Terminal, P&O uses Mayflower. We confirm your terminal when you give us your cruise line and ship name. The terminals are at different ends of the port — arriving at the correct one matters.
